The restaurant at the Strand Tower Hotel is headed up by our Executive Chef, Patricia Ann Küttel, who works hard to ensure that the buffet is always brimming with exquisite dishes. Patricia has been employed at a variety of high-end establishments before, including many of the Five Star hotels located in Cape Town. Her extensive experience is evident in the taste and presentation of the cuisine at the Strand Tower Hotel.
All meals in the restaurant are served buffet-style for the convenience of the guests. You can watch the team of chefs prepare your meal a la minute. Dishes range from local curries, roasts, and vegetables that are crisp and juicy. There is also a live station where one of our senior chefs will cook fresh ingredients such as fish, calamari, steaks, chops, prawns and chicken, preparing it exactly to your liking.
Experienced waiters are available to assist and to ensure that diners have all the extras they may want and need. Guests can enjoy a relaxed meal, paired with our selection of award-winning estate wines from the nearby Cape Winelands.
At the Strand Tower Hotel, we have a comprehensive wine list offering both red and white South African wines. Our head barman is an experienced wine taster, and enjoys exploring his passion for viticulture by sharing his expertise on the subject with our guests. He has also written numerous articles about wine.
The bar and lounge
The bar and lounge at the Strand Tower Hotel are adjacent to the restaurant, and overlooks the ambient setting of the pool deck. The bar is fully stocked with a selection of fine spirits, so we are always ready to shake out some cocktails or a tipple. The lounge decor is contemporary, and creates a relaxed setting in the centre of the bustling city. The lounge overlooks Strand Street below, and is a perfect location to enjoy an afternoon beer, some drinks after work, or a nightcap after you have enjoyed a delectable meal in our restaurant.
